Sonoco’s SonoWrap is a new single-wrap paperboard container, available in round and non-round formats, which offers graphics options not normally available on such packs, plus improved distribution efficiencies.
Although Europe’s use of single-wrap containers has grown significantly in recent years, this is the first time Sonoco has had a single-wrap alternative to its traditional paperboard cans.
The SonoWrap uses a single laminated structure of paperboard and a low, medium or high hermetic barrier liner. The structure is then printed, die-cut and formed into a nestable cup shape. A paperboard bottom, membrane top and overcap completes the package. The cups can be litho printed, hot foil stamped, embossed and treated with UV inks.
Both variants are tapered, facilitating nesting and thus requiring less space on pallets, in trucks and warehouses.
