Inkjet manufacturer Screen Europe has appointed Juan Cano as Director Business Development Flexible Packaging, to lead and expand its new flexible packaging digital printing division.

“Juan is an accomplished and highly experienced leader in the flexible packaging industry, with a proven track record in business development and sustainable sales growth of high-value, innovative packaging equipment. His experience and stature make him the right person to help expand our newly established flexible packaging digital printing platform”, says Bui Burke, Senior VP Sales Screen Europe.

Earlier this year, Screen announced the launch next year of its Truepress PAC 830F, a new and innovative water-based inkjet digital printing press specifically designed for the flexible packaging industry. The Truepress PAC 830F will be the cornerstone of Screen’s ambitious flexible packaging printing division.

Screen’s new flexible packaging printing technology builds on over 75 years’ experience in engineering of innovative printing solutions for the packaging industry. With the Truepress PAC 830F, Screen responds to the growing demand for technology that allows printing short runs with a much lower production cost than conventional analogue printing systems (Flexo, Gravure or Offset) and a faster time-to-market. The Truepress PAC 830F is 100% digital inkjet, which means it is a non-contact printing deposition process allowing for full colour consistency, exceptional print resolution and sharper detail. In addition to the CMYK printheads, the printing engine provides a heavy white inkjet coverage that achieves a high level of opacity on clear PET and BOPP film substrates.

With more than 20 years’ experience in delivering sales growth globally, Juan Cano worked in several Senior positions at Bobst before joining SCREEN. Previously, he has held several other sales & marketing roles helping to shape and develop the international markets for state-of-the-art capital equipment manufactures like Russell Finex and Tate & Lyle. He graduated in Chemistry at the University of Granada and holds an MBA from the Oxford Brookes University.

Screen’s flexible packaging printing platform is its third digital printing division. The other two being the Truepress Jet 520HD platform of commercial printers and the Truepress Jet L350UV platform of inkjet label presses.
