Claricom has enhanced its Scanpoint Packaging Validation Module for use in automatic in-line set up, while adding scope for increased inspection procedures.
The new Scanpoint module uses portable handheld barcode reading equipment to confirm the correct use of packaging materials without having to modify packaging artwork. The software can be used to confirm that the promotional label is correctly positioned while checking for the correct version of artwork.
Modifications to the job selection procedure mean there is less room for error now that the operator must confirm each packaging item is correct. This is particularly relevant where case label printing is performed off-line or where labels are printed in advance.
The new model will also allow inspection to be performed at any point during production.
