Spanish food company Salsa Rica has selected Aptar Food + Beverage’s Samba closure to enhance and repackage its Hacendado mayonnaise brand.
Hacendado mayonnaise brand is distributed in Spain by Mercadona, a family-owned supermarket chain.
Salsa Rica’s recent improvement of the ingredients used in its recipe for Mayonnaise is said to be main reason behind Mercadona’s desire to repackage and reposition its private label emulsified sauce.
Furthermore, the packaging enhancements were the result of many consumer studies that disclosed what consumers want in the new packaging.
Aptar Food + Beverage, a business unit of AptarGroup, said that Samba snap top closure has a 38mm, 3-start neck finish and a 51mm outer diameter closure, allowing consumers to easily open and close the product, even with one hand.
The presence of an active hinge allows the lid to remain open while in use, to enhance its usability.
Apart from a redesigned opening and lid, Salsa Rica used Aptar’s valve technology to improve the product’s flow management.
Recently, Aptar Food + Beverage partnered with Chacauhaa Brazil to provide an inverted packaging solution for Mel de Cacau honey.
The firm replaced the glass with a metal lug cap of Mel de Cacau honey with an inverted closure with Aptar’s Lock-Back Partial Lid solution with SimpliSqueeze flow control valve.
Aptar provides packaging solutions like dispensing closures, pouch spouts, spray pumps and valves to transform products and brands.
