RKW Agri, a business unit of RKW Group, has expanded its Polydress FarmGuard silage barrier film portfolio with the introduction of new e7 silage barrier film.
The new 100µm Polydress FarmGuard silage barrier film has been designed for the protection of silage and support easier handling.
The next-generation e7 silage barrier film is said to be 100 times more effective as an oxygen barrier than standard silage films.
RKW’s black-and-white barrier film is provided with UV protection at 120 kLy lasting 18 months in European markets.
Polydress FarmGuard will allow farmers for the storing of silage over longer periods.
The better barrier function will help prevent oxygen from entering into the forage, maintaining the quality of the silage for a long time.
RKW’s barrier film enables to efficiently preserve the nutritional value and avoid the loss of silage.
In addition, the new 100µm Polydress FarmGuard barrier film enables to store silage for a longer time.
Its high tensile strength of 38 MPa and better dart drop strength (≥ 750 g) helps in better handling and maintain quality for users.

Featuring the EVOH oxygen barrier, the Polydress FarmGuard also includes a special composition that will avoid the use of additional vacuum underlay films, thereby helping farmers to reduce storage costs, transport costs, personnel and handling costs.
Initially, the company is providing Polydress FarmGuard in widths from 8 to16m/ 32ft up to 50ft.
From autumn this year, the film will also be marketed in extra-wide widths of up to 30m / 100ft and lengths of up to 300m / 1,000ft.
In addition, the company is offering other silage films such as Polydress SiloPro and Bunker Cover in widths of up to 39m / 127ft.
