Established in 1967, Barcelona Cartonboard produces cartonboard, which can be used to produce recycling containers and various packaging products.

The company produces cardboard from both recycled and virgin fiber for various applications, including food, pharmacy, household and cleaning, textile and graphics.

The firm uses recycled fiber called white lined chipboard (WLC) to produce coated cartonboard.

The acquisition will help Reno De Medici to optimize its both production and sales, as well as better serve pan-European customers.

Barcelona Cartonboard produces WLC Triplex and the Folding Escandia, which can be used to produce packaging products for the food sector.

They can be used for the production of cereal boxes, biscuit boxes, packs for dairy products, trays and all kinds of packaging for non-greasy products.

The firm’s WLC Triplex Blanco can be used for the elaboration of graphic materials such as book covers, folders, labels, blisters and general packaging.

Triplex Blanco is a recycled coated cartonboard with white backing, and its surface layer or face comes from white cut recycled fiber and reverse layer also comes from white trim and features a light stucco.

The company also produces Triplex Gris – EB recycled WLC cartonboard with grey back for general packaging

Its top layer is made of recycled fiber of white shavings and has a double coating, while the back layer has mixed recycling and a light coating on the reverse.

According to Barcelona Cartonboard, Triplex is a suitable recyclable coated cardboard for any type of box or packaging.

The coated cardboard can be used to produce detergent boxes, containers from drug products, boxes or labels for textile, pharmaceutical and footwear.

Triplex can also be used to produce packaging for toys, boxes for the tobacco industry and packaging for electrical and electronic material.
