Elite Cameron has signed a licensing agreement to manufacture the Weston Reelstand low cost shaftless unwind stand worldwide. Stephen Weston, the designer of the reelstand, has been appointed area sales manager for the North of England and Scotland.

Elite Cameron intends to develop the modular design of the reelstand, which at present is suitable for converter style machines up to 1,600mm web width and reel weights of 1,500kg. It will retain the concept of a basic shaftless unwind for which customers can purchase ‘add-ons’ to customize the machine to their particular requirements. Shafted machines will be available, with options for edge guiding, tension control, brakes and chucks according to customer’s individual preference.

The company says it will also be possible to retrofit existing customer equipment to the reelstand, providing large cost savings.

Batch manufacture of the Weston Reelstand will take place at Elite Cameron’s Taunton facility with ex stock delivery. The first example of the new product will be shown on the Elite Cameron stand at next month’s K 2001 exhibition
