The Recreate Packaging 2021 theme, Design Circular, challenges designers to create the next generation of renewable and circular packaging
The design competition Recreate Packaging by Stora Enso invites designers globally to create renewable packaging solutions for circular economy. The competition is now open for entries until 25 October 2020.
Today’s eco-conscious consumers want a green lifestyle. They are more concerned than ever on environmental impact of packaging, and plastic waste especially has become a burning issue. Consumers prefer packaging that uses renewable materials, has less or no plastic, and is designed for recycling to help lessen the environmental impact.
The Recreate Packaging 2021 theme, Design Circular, challenges designers to create the next generation of renewable and circular packaging: replace fossil-based materials with renewable ones, protect the product to reduce waste, reduce carbon footprint and enable easy and efficient recycling for the consumer.
The competition is open for anyone with a creative mind and design skills. The entries will be judged by an expert jury, and the awards will be announced in March 2021. All approved entries will be published on the competition website in November 2020, and there will be a voting for Public Choice Award.
Recreate Packaging by Stora Enso has been encouraging and awarding excellence in packaging design since 2012. The competition provides a great opportunity for a talented designer to stand out and win awards, while serving as a platform for innovation in sustainable packaging solutions based on renewable and recyclable materials with low carbon footprint, replacing plastic and other non-renewable materials.
