Record sales for AVT

Provider of machine vision based automatic print inspection systems AVT reports a sales increase of 50 per cent, from $2.8M in Q2/2002 to $4.2M in the second quarter of 2003. Sales for the first six months of 2003 totalled $8.2M, 55 per cent up on the same period last year.

In Q2/2003, the company recorded its first operating profit – $64,000 – after three consecutive years of operating losses. During the first six months of fiscal 2003, AVT showed a net profit of $79,000. The European share of revenues increased from 42 to 57.3 per cent. New orders during Q2 rose to $3.8M, 33.6 per cent up on the first quarter of 2003, although slightly lower than the same period of 2002.
