Spanish packaging and corrugated cardboard packaging solutions provider Rafael Hinojosa has unveiled positive production results with Electronics For Imaging’s (EFI) Nozomi C18000 press.
The press, which delivers enhanced short-run production capabilities to Rafael Hinojosa, was installed in April 2017. The press enabled the firm to meet the requirements of short-run, multi-SKU and versioned jobs.
The new single-pass press will be used for packaging for toys, fresh fruit and vegetables, food and beverages, household products, cleaning products and toiletries.
In the last two months, the firm increased the production and will move the press into 24/7 production shortly. The press will print on corrugated board substrates and also operate on E, B, C, BC and EB fluted board in various sizes up to 1500x3000mm.
The firm will also print full-color images on kraft liners and colored boards by equipping the press with new white LED ink, which will offer a suite of board choices to the customer.
The Nozomi C18000 press has the potential to print up to 75 linear meters a minute, which will reduce the production costs and enable manufacturers to work with fast turnaround times.
