Fast operation is key to its new AFR-24 high speed rewinder for aluminium foil and food film introduced earlier this year, says Elsner Engineering Works. The new model handles 30.5-61cm foil widths and core OD sizes of 32-44.5mm. Production speeds of up to 40rolls/min (610m/min) are claimed.
Designed to run all industry standard consumer size roll lengths, the rewinder is infinitely adjustable from 5-152m lengths. The multi-position turret rewinder is servo controlled and is adjustable while running. An electronic operator interface is used to control length changes as well as machine diagnostics.
Maximum finished roll diameter is 76mm and the machine will handle up to 76.2cm mill roll diameter. Automatic tension control monitors the product and interfaces with the variable speed belt driven unwind.
