Heat sealing specialist Proseal has introduced TTe tray sealer to assist the progression of safe food packaging and shelf life extension to underdeveloped countries where packaging is overused and underutilized.

The TTe tray sealing machine, which can be used for low-volume production and production trials, has the capacity to seal up to ten vacuum/gas packs a minute with a two-impression tool.
Proseal said the machine adds to its ‘e’ technology range, which is characterized by its flexibility to perform any style of heat seal to a pre-formed tray, whether atmospheric, MAP, VMAP, Skin, Skin Plus or Skin Deep.
Customers can add every option at the point of purchase or a later date, or remove if required, allowing them to future-proof their investment.
It also gives users the flexibility to change pack formats in line with customer demands and market trends, without the need to buy new equipment.
The TTe machine features a five-minute tool changeover, a film-feed system with an easy film route, and a maintenance-friendly construction.
At the touch of a button, the tray sealer’s Auto-Tool feature automatically locates and connects the tooling to machine functions, including all MAP functions.
The machine is claimed to provide accurate temperature and seal pressure control, as well as an automatic seal operation with a better seal dwell time.
Proseal said the TTe tray sealer also delivers exact temperature and seal pressure control, and a high-accuracy tool alignment system that provides an extremely consistent sealing or film-cutting relationship with the tray flange profile.
The machine features a food industry-approved hygienic construction and wash-down protection, as well as full Category 3 guarding.

Proseal developed what it claims to be the first machine to erect, fill and seal cardboard skillets for sandwiches, which has facilitated the move away from plastic packs for several retailers.
