Progressive Care, a personalized healthcare services and technology company, has invested in a new TCGRx Automated Pouch Packaging System, expanding it robot pharmacy machinery fleet.

Planned to be installed in early June 2018 at the firm’s Miami-Dade County PharmCo location, the TCGRx pouch packaging system is designed to allow patients to receive customized dosage pouches according to their daily prescribed needs.

Progressive Care CEO S Parikh Mars said: “We understand that patients continue to struggle with taking their medications on time and as prescribed and one of our core missions is to eliminate the obstacles patients experience that lead to non-adherence.

“This machine, along with our PharmCo Medication Synchronization Program, allows us to streamline and personalize the format in which we disburse prescriptions.

“Physicians and patient preferences are shifting toward this type of packaging and the addition of this system will help us to solidify our 5-star performance and build brand differentiation and loyalty both in our markets and across the health care spectrum.”

Progressive Care said it wholly owned subsidiary, PharmCo, located in Miami Beach, will be one of the first to offer patients the benefit new packaging system in South Florida.

The convenient adherence packaging is planned to be offered by the company to retail patients in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The machine, based on the dosage schedule, pill size, pill amount and language, can provide the perfect pouch, making each patient’s experience more user friendly and convenient, the firm noted.

Capable of being integrated within the current pharmacy software, the new TCGRx system will expand the company’s current pharma-robotic equipment which includes the ScriptPro CRS 225 and Parata PASS 208.
