Dassault Systèmes has added consumer packaged goods firm Procter & Gamble to its list of 3DEXPERIENCE platform clients.

P&G is implementing Dassault Systèmes’ ‘Perfect Product’ and ‘Perfect Package’ to connect with its consumers.

The consumer goods company is of view that this process can speed up and improve its product design and packaging.

Dassault and P&G have been working together for a long time.

Dassault has been offering design, development and simulation applications and manages its 10 product categories with 65 brands in more than 80 countries.

With the new 3D EXPERIENCE platform, P&G can now leverage its scale with greater efficiency towards innovation, managing and accelerating product programs under conditions such as short product lifecycles, fluctuating raw material costs and varied consumer demand.

Dassault said its 3DEXPERIENCE platform can help in developing a collaborative digital environment, where project data can be traced, shared and is reusable.

At present, teams at organisations can spend less time looking for data and have access to consistent and accurate packaging and product specifications. This can increase process efficiency, while saving time on rework  and expenditure.

P&G IT director Jean-Louis Hospitel said: “Our decision to upgrade our existing Dassault Systèmes’ PLM to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is part of our work to digitally transform our business to support our work process digital transformation and drive value.

“The 3DEXPERIENCE platform facilitates end-to-end innovation integration and improved user experience for our seamless technical community.”

Dassault Systèmes Consumer Packaged Goods & Retail Industry vice president Philippe Loeb said: “The 3DEXPERIENCE platform and our industry solution experiences for consumer packaged goods connect people, processes and systems. As a result, companies can reduce product development time by up to 20%.

“This is a major advantage in an industry that requires bigger, better and faster innovation from companies that have to constantly readjust business priorities in response to changing consumer habits. Discovering and delivering the next breakthrough product becomes that much more efficient.”
