Flexible packaging company ProAmpac is set to unveil a new sustainable RecycAll Freshpack sandwich skillet.

The RecycAll Freshpack is an all-fibre sandwich skillet with a window, which is said to be plastic-free in the UK and Europe.

The window sandwich wedge cellulose container has been designed to facilitate easier recycling for consumers.

ProAmpac has worked with Greencore Group for 18 months to develop the all-fibre recyclable sandwich skillet.

Greencore announced that the recyclable skillet, stating products will have the exact same shelf life as if they were packaged in a traditional skillet, due to the precise level of moisture resistance provided.

ProAmpac fresh food packaging global managing director Graham Williams said: “Partnering with an industry-leading company like Greencore is critical in bringing to market the latest in sustainable food packaging innovations.

“We are excited to invite the foodservice community to visit us during LUNCH! to see our latest innovations and learn more about ProAmpac’s breadth of capabilities.”

ProAmpac will exhibit the new all-fibre recyclable sandwich skillet at the Food-to-Go LUNCH! 2021 event at ExCeL London, an exhibition and international convention centre in East London.

In January this year, ProAmpac acquired Rapid Action Packaging (RAP) to expand its flexible packaging solutions for ready-to-eat and freshly prepared foods.

In April this year, ProAmpac launched its RAP fresh-food-to-go packaging portfolio in North America. It is already offering RAP’s recyclable fresh-food-to-go packaging products for customers in Europe.
