Flexible packaging company ProAmpac has introduced new HC-Series of healthcare materials at Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West event in the US.

The HC-Series consists of HC-600 high-barrier films, which can be used in a variety of market applications.

The HC-600W films are said to be suitable for the packaging of normal (aqueous) and hard-to-hold products containing fragrances, alcohols, or germ-killing disinfectants.

ProAmpac’s HC-600LE low extractable barrier laminations are designed to replace standard laminations, which may contain common trace contaminants that affect the performance of the product.

The HC-600Al FREE solution is designed to serve as an alternative to laminations, which integrate an aluminium foil barrier without sacrificing strength or sterility

The HC-400 POLY and HC-400 PAPER customisable materials offer stringent packaging options with better barrier properties.

They can be used for the product, which needs either poly/poly/foil/poly or paper/poly/foil/poly structures and customisable in one or all layers.

In addition, the HC-48SG film provides high-barrier options to meet industry needs for sterility and integrate features to enhance ease of use.

ProAmpac business development manager Jeff Murak said: “We invite the medical community to visit us at Booth 1825 and learn more about ProAmpac’s newly branded HC-series of materials and our expanded DuPont Tyvek offering.”

ProAmpac stated that its laminations, pouching and material science expertise can be combined with Dupont Tyvek to deliver a better durable substrate, which is both breathable and provides an advanced microbial barrier.

Dupont Tyvek product offerings consist of rollstock and pouches with a slit to width, chevron peel, extended sizing and flexographic printing capabilities.

Last month, ProAmpac opened a new Collaboration & Innovation Centre (CIC) at its existing Rochester campus in New York State, US.
