Flexible packaging company ProAmpac and wholefood nutrition producer Purition have launched ProActive Recyclable paper sachets for powdered meal shakes.
The new high barrier fully recyclable paper sachet is an alternative to the Purition’s original multilayer non-recyclable packaging.
Purition and ProAmpac improved the sustainability features of the ProActive Recyclable paper sachet without compromising product protection by reducing the overall material.
Additionally, ProActive Recyclable paper sachets can easily be recycled in paper streams.
ProAmpac Europe senior product development manager Lynsey Maddison said: “This unique paper-based technology offers a high oxygen and moisture barrier needed for dry powder protection. The product also has optimum stiffness for shelf appearance and consumer handling.”
“All items are run as a composite and the high-quality print maintains Purition’s minimalist earth tone pallet, ensuring clear and crisp labelling for consumers.”
The ProActive Recyclable paper sachets are printed by ProAmpac Ultimate Digital to enable Purition to easily shift to the new design with few graphic alterations.
Purition’s Edward Taylor said: “As an environmentally focused brand, Purition wanted to provide consumers with more sustainable packaging.
“We approached ProAmpac with this challenge and they answered with a novel paper sachet solution that is easy to recycle.
“This new format coupled with crisp digitally printed graphics supports Purition’s brand and sustainability promise.”
In April this year, the packaging company rolled out new ProActive PCR Retort pouches designed for pet and human food packaging.
