US private equity firm Catterton Partners has acquired a controlling interest in specialist in water-soluble products for packaging, healthcare, industrial and edible applications Monosol LLC.
Headquartered in Merriville, Indiana, and with a UK factory in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, Monosol claims to be the world’s largest, fastest-growing manufacturer of water-soluble packaging and systems worldwide. Its soluble, dissolvable and flushable technology is used in single-dose packages for liquid and powder laundry detergents, dishwasher detergents, all-purpose cleaners and disinfectants. Customers include Procter & Gamble and “all the big players” in global detergents.
Monosol’s 140-strong US factory in Portage, Indiana manufactures using solutions casting, while its 50-strong UK factory specialises in extrusion blown film-based goods.
