Protective packaging manufacturer Pregis is set to invest over $14m to open a new manufacturing facility in the Atlanta area of Georgia, US.
The new facility, which will be situated in McDonough, is said to be the latest in the firm’s series of investments in protective packaging manufacturing facilities to meet demand from e-commerce customers.
The new 298,000ft² facility will involve in the production of rebranded Pregis EverTec mailer, which features lightweight and recyclable all-paper cushioned construction.
Recently, Pregis also announced plans to open two manufacturing facilities in Texas and one in Bethel of Pennsylvania.
The firm already operates a facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
Pregis is planning to initially recruit 80 new manufacturing employees at the McDonough facility. Overall, the new EverTec manufacturing locations are anticipated to create around 450 new jobs.

“Pregis’ investment in a Georgia manufacturing location is yet another commitment to offering a diverse portfolio of shipping solutions tailored to the growing demand among brand owners and e-commerce retailers for sustainable, efficient and cost-effective solutions.”
In October last year, Pregis purchased the technology to manufacture the sustainable mailer solution, as well as scale the production of the curbside recyclable product.
In addition, the firm self-manufactures advanced equipment used for the production of mailer.
