Pregis, a US-based flexible packaging and protective packaging solutions firm, has launched the new Performance Flexibles Renew Series film solutions as part of its sustainable product portfolio.

According to Pregis, the latest product in the Pregis Renew Series is intended for flexible packaging applications, including food, medical, pharmaceutical, and household consumer goods. It is said to use advanced materials and recycled content that are specifically engineered to meet the needs of the client.

The firm said the Renew Series focuses on three essential sustainability factors, that are recyclable, recycled content, and renewable. It is intended to meet the rising need for flexible packaging goods that support a circular economy.

The flexible packaging manufacturer designed the Performance Flexibles Renew Series to address the complete value chain with blown film solutions, including the design and production of reusable or recyclable film structures, ethical procurement of recycled material and renewable resin resources.

Pregis Performance Flexibles market development and sustainable films director Jonathan Quinn said: “Our commitment to our customers is to develop films that will ultimately support them in exceeding their sustainability goals, whether that’s a general-purpose film produced with 30 percent of recycled content or a barrier film that meets the Association of Plastics Recyclers and How2Recycle recyclable film guidance.

“We fully recognise the importance of developing films that drive us to a circular economy, and our Renew Series extends our sustainable flexible packaging offering for customers.”

The company is said to have provided a variety of Renew solutions for the inside-the-box packaging segment. Furthermore, Pregis claimed that the brand of solutions represent the most sustainable choice among resin-based packaging options.

Last month, Pregis received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS for its Grand Rapids, Michigan facility.
