Peruvian flexible packaging company UnionPlast has purchased an entire Comexi line to boost its production capabilities.

UnionPlast is set to install an F2 MB flexographic press, an SL3 laminator and a Compack 2 slitter at its new facility in Lurín, south of Lima.

Since 1983, UnionPlast has been engaged in the production of flexible packaging, printed and non-printed, for the general industry.

UnionPlast manager Miguel de la Flor said: “We are in a process of growth and modernization. Presently, our plant is situated in the district of San Luís, but in the coming months we will relocate to our new facility, on a 10,000 square meter piece of land, south of Lima.

Comexi F2 MB central drum press has been developed to meet the short and medium print run requirements of the retail and wholesale channels within the flexible packaging sector.

The central drum press features patented FLEXOEfficiency concepts, which are integrated with a simplified drying system design.

Comexi Compack 2 slitter, which facilitates permitting adjustments, is a compact and fully electric ergonomically designed machine. It manoeuvres the slitting process after the progression of material.

The tension-separating NIP system allows the machine to use various tensions while rewinding and unwinding,

Comexi SL3 is a flexible packaging laminator for converters managing a large number of printing projects which do not need high tensions.

Comexi area manager José Luis Soriano said: “Comexi and UnionPlast have a long relationship that solidified in 2017, after the purchase of a Comexi F4 flexographic press, which enabled the Peruvian company to improve productivity.

“UnionPlast especially values our technical support as well as the local service we offer.”
