The new line includes three RPI models, comprising of single-robot solution that offers speeds up to 20 partitions per minute (ppm).

The dual-robot solution provides speeds up to 38 ppm, while triple-robot solution offers sppeds up to 55ppm.

Pearson’s new RPIs can accommodate multi-cell (mostly 6-cell or 12-cell) chipboard partitions in end air, side air and shunted styles, thorough using between one and three Fanuc M-10A/12 six-axis robots.

Custom end-of-arm tooling exercises articulated motion to pick knockdown partitions from the positive pressure magazine and insert them into the case.

The articulated motion of Pearson’s RPI is fluid, compared with traditional solutions using start/stop movements.

Through pairing with continuous motion grip conveying, the RPI’s will reduce the chance of mispicks, case jams and product damage.

Changeovers on Pearson’s RPIs will be completed within 10 minutes, including start to finish. They are facilitated by step-by-step instructions with accompanying photos and numbered changeover points on the HMI.

Automatic tool change is provided as an option, enabling on-the-fly adjustments to accommodate different products, partition styles and cases.

Pearson Packaging Systems product manager Timothy Hill said: “Not only do they provide a more consistent result and greater reliability over mechanical solutions, they also provide superior flexibility.

While the upfront cost may be more, the total cost of ownership over time is much less when you factor in the savings from reduced product damage, maintenance expenses and production downtime.”

Pearson has provided standard 10 graphical HMI screen with interactive maps, instructions and data history for better machine user experience. The customers can also be customize the RPI’s to meet their requirements.

Pearson is specialized in the design, production, integration and service of secondary packaging automation solutions.

The company provides full line of configurable machinery solutions to erect, pack, seal, and palletize top-loaded cartons, cases and trays.
