Sealed Air, which recently acquired the Bradford-based supplier of machines and films, Wrapid Packaging Systems, has launched an entry-level monoblock packaging unit which it says will bring payback within the first year.

Available in two variants, the Mondo & Scaglione Impack is said to be ideal for anyone moving into end-of-line automation for the first time. While designed for bottle packing, it can apparently be easily adapted to pack cartons, ready meals and other similar food products.

The compact unit comprises case erecting, case filling and case sealing facilities, but, with adaptation, can also be used to erect and fill trays. Hot glue and tape sealing are available and the system can be connected to a semi-automatic palletiser.

For those with more space needing higher speeds Sealed Air is the sole UK distributor for the Mondo range of high speed casing solutions.
