Park Cakes, part of the Northern Foods Group, and one of the UK’s leading suppliers of own label cakes to the major supermarkets, has added a second Kliklok Woodman Certiwrap 150 sleeving machine to an identical system installed at its Oldham, Lancashire plant last year.
The servo-driven stainless steel sleeving machine, with patented rotary carton feeder, is built to handle a variety of items including ready meal trays and tubs, either individually or in multi-packs, with special options to handle stacked products.
The Certiwraps for Park Cakes, being used to sleeve individual baked crumbles and cakes, were built to suit the company’s specific requirement to collate incoming single products into groups of two using a special scroll infeed system, and sleeving at speeds of up to 150 carton wraps/min.
