Family-owned business Pantero has acquired Detroit-area packaging and equipment supplier Inspired Packaging Solutions for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will enable Pantero to extend its packaging automation and material handling solutions for its warehouse and distribution customers.
Inspired Packaging offers packaging and material handling solutions such as automated carton packing and stretch wrap machines, conveyor systems and material handling equipment, and warehouse shelving, flow racks and safety gates.
The company is also engaged in custom design and installation of complex automation systems for packaging facilities and warehouses, in addition to offering pre-engineered equipment.
Inspired Packaging also provides custom fabrication and warehouse layout design services for its customers.
Pantero operations director Andrew Reid said: “Inspired Packaging Solutions has a wealth of experience in packaging and material handling automation and equipment, bringing Pantero a whole new set of capabilities that we can now offer to our customers.
“At the same time, we can offer their clients a larger range of packaging materials and supplies. We are excited to bring our teams together to better serve our customers.”
Inspired Packaging founder Joe Santana, who has expertise in the packaging equipment and material handling business, will continue to work with the combined company in the role of acting manager for Pantero’s packaging and material handling equipment division.
In a statement, Santana said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Pantero team. I believe our shared philosophies of providing outstanding customer service and bringing exceptional value to our customers align well between our two companies.”
At present, Pantero provides a range of packaging, warehouse and janitorial supplies and equipment.
Inspired Packaging will help Pantero to offer as one-stop service for warehouse supplies, equipment, custom automation solutions and design services.
Pantero currently owns a 100,000ft2 facility in Troy, Michigan.
