Gluten free and sugar free pasta substitute Palmini was earlier marketed exclusively in a can and will be provided in new pouch packaging as an alternative to the customers.

Palmini will be available in new pouch packaging format from the late fourth quarter of this year in grocery stores across the country, including grocery major Safeway.

The product is currently available in new pouch packaging on Amazon, as well as on the Palmini website.

The company has developed the new pouch option for the customers interested in moving away from purchasing items packaged in cans.

According to the company, the pouch packaging will provide advantages and solutions that benefit both the retailers and the firm itself and canned items are susceptible to denting when sold online.

Gluten free and sugar free pasta substitute is already available in major grocery retailers such as Whole Foods.

Developed by using specially formulated aluminium, the new pouch packaging holds capacity to offer up to 1.5 years of shelf life.

Palmini has also unveiled a new improved flavor to neutralize the palm taste, making it  closer to the traditional pasta taste.

The neutral Palmini flavor will be provided in the new pouches, as well as in the existing can packaging format.

O.A. Foods CEO and founder Alfonso Tejada said: “We already package our quinoa and chia in pouches.

“so packaging Palmini with it was the next logical step. Our customers look for health-conscious options in every aspect of life, so we are thrilled to make enhancements that make our product better for them on all fronts.”

Palmini is a low carb, sugar free pasta alternative, which is similar to traditional pasta. The product is gluten free, and provides only 20 calories and 4g of carbs, said the company.

O.A. Foods, which has developed and branded Palmini, is a company that offers imported chia and quinoa.
