Food packaging solutions provider Pal Packaging has selected Ineos Styrolution’s mechanically recycled Styrolution PS Eco in its new range of food packaging products.

The Styrolution PS Eco is a 100% recycled polystyrene which will help the packaging firm to move towards a circular economy of polystyrene.

According to a joint press release issued by both the firms, after successful experiments with the new recycled material, the company was satisfied with the ease of processing and the quality of the finished product.

Palamidis quality and R&D manager Konstantinos Roumpos said: “Ineos Styrolution made it a seamless transition for us to offer our customers a sustainable packaging solution.

“We are eager to go ahead with sustainable packaging solutions starting with poultry and mushroom packaging.”

Ineos Styrolution standard business project specialist Louie Mackee said: “At Ineos Styrolution, we are excited working with Pal Packaging.

“The company is committed to providing high-quality products and dedicated to new sustainable solutions. In fact, our two companies share the same vision in terms of sustainability and innovation.”

In March this year, INEOS Styrolution unveiled its new K-Resin DK11 material for controlled atmosphere packaging (CAP) film applications to preserve the freshness, colour and integrity of the fruits.

Pal Packaging is a family-owned division of Greece-based Palamidis. The firm offers custom and stock foam and PET trays and containers to all major food companies in Greece and abroad.
