US-based multinational technology firm Packsize has introduced an on demand packaging robotic system, PackBot.

The industrial service robotic automation will manufacture custom corrugated cartons to increase output and minimize manual labor dependencies. It focuses on automating the bulk of the manual work on a company’s packaging line.

Featuring advanced PackNet production and optimization software platform, the new scalable system can extend right-sized corrugated packaging outside human limitations.

The company’s On Demand Packaging solutions include custom box-making machines and smart packaging systems.

According to the company, the new robotic system addresses top concerns of manufacturing and fulfillment managers such as labor shortages, throughput and reliability.

Packsize chief scientist Niklas Pettersson said: “Consumer preference for sustainably packaged products is driving industry focus on packaging optimization, along with manufacturers and distribution center managers who find it increasingly difficult to fulfill manual labor requirements.

“Through our continued emphasis on sustainable formats and automation, this platform’s patented box-erecting process is a true game-changer for On Demand Packaging systems.”

Via a modular engineering approach, PackBot can be tailored to meet the customer’s specific needs and made-to-order.

Based in Salt Lake City of Utah, Packsize develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and markets On Demand Packaging software, systems and solutions.

Earlier this month, Packsize introduced PackAssist, which is a new software designed to offer real-time remote technical support and assistance for its customers.

PackAssist will help packaging operator to create, track, and display a troubleshooting case number, enabling to avoid contact Packsize by phone.

In March this year, Packsize introduced a hot melt adhesive, which the company claims will takes stickiness out of custom box-making.

Packsize Hot Melt Adhesive is based on industry-leading metallocene copolymer technology. Its non-charring formula enhances system performance and lowers production costs.

It is specifically formulated for use with all Packsize On Demand Packaging corrugated box-making machines.
