PAC Worldwide, a provider of customised packaging and contract packaging solutions, has opened a new tech centre in Ohio, US.

Located near Cincinnati, the 9,600ft² facility consists of research and development units along with the company’s engineering capabilities.

The new centre in Middletown allows research and development units to better coordinate with each other for the concept development, testing, and production of packaging prototypes.

The new tech centre is located directly adjacent to one of the company’s large manufacturing facilities, which further enhances operating efficiencies.

PAC Worldwide president Steve Foster said: “The Tech Center has long been a strategic priority for executive management. When the opportunity presented itself to acquire the space necessary to integrate people and process, we knew it was time to strike. It’s a significant milestone in PAC’s growth story.”

PAC Worldwide claims that many of the world’s largest consumer packaged goods brands protect their products in the company’s packaging.

The company, which is based in Seattle, also serves multiple e-commerce companies.

PAC engineering senior vice president Misha Riveros said: “Those breakthroughs often revolve around technological advances, but innovation at its core is about people and creating an environment that facilitates more effective collaboration. The Tech Center will be that place at PAC.”

In March this year, PAC Worldwide announced an investment of up to $47m to open its first manufacturing facility in Georgia, US.

With around 2,000 team members, PAC Worldwide carries out operations in the US, Mexico and Malaysia.
