Flexible packaging solutions provider PAC Machinery has added a new custom air expeller option to Rollbag Magnum horizontal automatic bagger.

The Rollbag Magnum horizontal automatic bagger with a new option is suitable for compressing, bagging and sealing a wide array of items.

The air expeller is a machine option that is also available on other PAC machinery models.

PAC Machinery has designed the Magnum Horizontal for long or bulky products or applications, which need special handling or orientation.

The machine is designed to minimise package size by compressing the air out of the bag with the top-mounted foam air expeller.

Magnum Horizontal also holds the capacity to right-size the bag to the product length, thereby helping to reduce material costs and plastic waste.

PAC Machinery sales and marketing vice president Greg Berguig said: “The pneumatic air expeller is a great development for removing excess air in a package resulting in reduced package volume, lower shipping costs and minimizes inventory space requirements.”

The company has shipped the first Rollbag Magnum horizontal automatic bagger with a new custom air expeller option to a New York-based medical contract manufacturer to reduce shipping costs and inventory space for compress and bag personal protective equipment (PPE).

To better meet the customer’s requirements, PAC Machinery developed an optimal custom solution. The machine has been configured for the customer to boost up the packaging process.

Designed to work with poly tubing and pre-opened bags on a roll, the Magnum Horizontal can be configured with a range of options such as hole punch, wider seal bar, light curtain to customise it as per the specific packaging application.

For in-line filling of long, bulky or variable length products, the built-in interface simplifies the integration of robotics or other automatic in-feed devices.
