Specifically developed for the snack food industry and cereal producers, Loma Systems’ new high-speed SnaX3 X-ray unit is designed to provide cost-effective contamination detection for low-density products.

Effective even with products packaged in metallised film or foil, it is said to be ideal for multi-bagged applications where bagged produce is collated into boxes for transportation such as crisps.

SnaX3 can detect contaminants including metal, glass, stone and high-density plastics in cases containing products from different lines and highlight flavour and sugar clumps in low density snacks and cereals.

Multi-layer image processing “instinctively adapts” the system’s scanning equipment to different foodstuff characteristics, while AutoTrack detection software calibrates the unit without incurring downtime.
