Holden Industries subsidiary Nosco has commenced the carton and label production at its new packaging innovation centre in Wisconsin, US.

The new 175,000ft² facility, which is located in Pleasant Prairie, will help the company to expand its printed packaging capabilities for the healthcare industry.

The company’s new packaging innovation centre and headquarters building will include its northern Illinois workforce to enhance supply chain efficiency and operational flow, as well as improve customer and employee experience.

Nosco’s new centre will also enable facility optimisation and automation, as well as provide additional training and development opportunities.

Nosco stated that its new packaging innovation centre will consist of around 300 of the company’s more than 700 employee owners.

The company’s remaining staff will continue to work from its existing facilities in Illinois, Texas, New York and Pennsylvania.

Nosco’s new packaging innovation centre features an observatory bridge to oversee all production activities.

The company’s CAD and solutions engineering teams will focus on improving customer packaging with sustainable material options, substrate and ink recommendations and structural design expertise.

Nosco president Craig Curran said: “This week, we will start producing labels using two new HP Indigo 6K Label machines.

“Moving forward, the Pleasant Prairie facility will be home to production for all label and carton orders placed hereafter that were historically produced at Nosco’s Gurnee and Waukegan facilities, respectively.”

Nosco provides full-service packaging solutions for more than 400 customers in the healthcare industry.

The company offers printed packaging solutions to its customers in the pharmaceutical, natural health, personal care and CPG markets. Its four core product lines consist of cartons, labels, inserts and flexible packaging.
