Enercon has developed Plasma3, a proprietary atmospheric glow discharge surface treatment system for narrow and wide non woven webs. The company says it can modify the entire fibre network of webs with dual-side treatment, with precise control to promote many hydrophilic surface properties. Process chemistry consumption costs are said to be extremely low, reacting in the discharge area and yielding high and long lasting surface energy to provide improved adhesion of dyes, inks, coatings and adhesives.
