Multivac has introduced a simple-to-use, ‘no-frills’ affordable automatic thermoformer for smaller operations with a 3m2 footprint which can produce vacuum, MAP or protective packs from materials including flexible and semi-rigid films and medical papers.
The R140 can handle a 420mm maximum film width, an advance of 300mm (150mm with preheat) and a draw depth of 130mm.
Able to run at up to 10 cycles/min, it will produce a wide range of pack sizes, including those for maturing cheese blocks, retail packs for fresh or sausage meats and sterile packs for disposable syringes.
The entry-level system incorporates many of the components of Multivac’s larger thermoformers, but “without some of the complexities”.
