Comexi, Hudson Sharp, and Air Trim have joined Bobst/Schiavi and Profama as the major sponsors of the new Flexible Packaging Technology Center at CMM International 2007, on June 4-7, in Chicago. Designed to showcase the latest advances in flexible packaging printing and converting, the technology centre will feature actual jobs being produced several times a day during the four days of the show.

Preliminary plans are for plastics bags to be produced using the following equipment: a new Bobst/Schiavi 10 colour CI EF 50 press; Comexi’s 52in Nexus solventless laminator with sleeve option; Profama’s new Pratica 1200 slitter rewinder; Hudson Sharp’s 275W-15 servo wicketer zipper sealer; and an Air Trim pneumatic trim system. Each of the sponsors will also have their own individual booths on the show floor.

CMM International 2007 will also feature a new Narrow to Mid-Web Technology Centre that will demonstrate running equipment producing jobs that use both technologies. Produced in co-operation with the DiTrollio Flexographic Technology Institute, it will also enable converters to gain press operator certification as part of the conference programme.
