Chinese printer Wing Hung and its affiliated company Shore To Shore has ordered another four Rapida sheet-fed offset presses – one each for its facilities in Dakar, Bangladesh, Chennai, India, and Istanbul, Turkey, and Colombo, Sri Lanka (the first KBA Rapida to come into service in the country).

With a top speed of 15,000s/hour, the Rapida 105 universal in format 72 x 105cm has six printing units, a coating tower and an extended delivery. STS will use it to print on both paper and board, so it has been fitted with non stop systems for feeder and delivery, and additional sheet guiding elements between the units. Other features include an Inkline ink supply system, Densitronic colour measurement and control system, and Logotronic basic to enable primary data from prepress to be used directly for press presetting and job records.

With 20 Rapida presses (more than 80 printing units and 12 coating towers) and one 74 Karat, Wing Hung/STS is one of the largest KBA sheet-ed offset users. The new Rapida 105 universal in Colombo will be printing labels and packaging for the clothing industry.
