Mondi said it will exhibit several innovations that fulfil packaging trends at three major industry events this September and October.

At the events, the company will showcase a new packaging laminate, BarrierPack Recyclable, which has been developed to reduce plastic packaging waste through recycling.

The new plastic laminate, which can be used for pre-made pouches and FFS roll-stock, can be full recycled without losing quality or functionality

Mondi will also introduce an advanced version of its perFORMing brand, which is a natural brown formable paper for shallow tray applications such as cheese, meat or salmon.

The company has blended Advantage formable paper with a new barrier coating to create new thermoformable packaging solution with advanced packaging properties and optimal formability.

According to the company, performing uses up to 70% less plastic and its paper grade is naturally brown instead of dyed brown.

The company will also launch an improved Splashbag, which is a water repellent pasted valve bag suitable for dry and powdery materials.

The bag was first launched in 2015, and now the bag has been improved to resist direct rain for up to 6 hours. It can also be stored in damp environments for up to five days without moisture spoiling the contents.

Mondi will also showcase latest solutions for the e-commerce industry at the FachPack and Scanpack events.

The Vino Box Sprint corrugated box has been developed for wine merchants to meet their increasing demand of online consumer orders.

The company will also present MailerBAG reusable and recyclable paper bag for e-commerce shipments, and ProVantage Powerflute containerboard for the safe packaging and transport of fruits and vegetables.

In addition, Mondi will launch Ultra-HD print option for its FlexziBox line of reclosable bags at Pacl Expo event.

Mondi Group communication and marketing director Sara Sizer said: “We will demonstrate that we are in a strong position to advise our customers and be their preferred innovation partner.

“We see increasing interest in and demand for sustainable packaging and paper solutions from customers everywhere. Sustainability is not a trend, it’s a requirement – and this is reflected in the key themes at all of the trade fairs.”
