Packaging and paper manufacturer Mondi has introduced new sustainable corrugated packaging solutions for the online grocery market across Central Europe.

The new recyclable eGrocery packaging solutions can be used by grocery retailers to deliver different goods ranging from perishable food to wine bottles.

Designed for small and large scale retailers, the new fit-for-purpose packaging solutions have been launched following the introduction of the company’s VinoBoxes in May this year.

Mondi is offering seven types of eGrocery packaging solutions suitable for all kinds of grocery pick-up and delivery options such as click and collect, local deliveries through retailers’ own vehicle fleets or long-distance deliveries via third-party carriers.

The latest eGrocery packaging solutions include Pick&ShipBox, PantryBox, RecipeBox, EatsBox, Click&LoadBox, Click&EnjoyBox and Click&CarryBox.

Pick&ShipBox is a one-pack solution that helps to meet multiple needs and includes convenient features such as easy lifting and opening.

Designed for quick and easy filling and closing, the stackable PantryBox can be used for carrier shipping or click & collect.

RecipeBox, which is designed for doorstep delivery of fresh produce and groceries, consists of an integrated lid and optional holes for better ventilation.

Designed to provide a quick filling option, the lightweight EatsBox can be used for smaller local deliveries by bike or scooter.

Click&LoadBox has been designed for click and collect of mixed grocery orders. It features handles for loading into cars and carrying home.

Designed for holiday, gift or seasonal promotion packs, the Click&EnjoyBox consists of compartments for tall products such as bottles. It features an easy handle carrier.

Click&CarryBox has been designed for heavier mixed orders. It includes an integrated handle for easy carrying.

Mondi corrugated solutions chief operating officer Armand Schoonbrood said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has boosted the popularity of online grocery shopping, especially in our Central European markets. Our customers in the retail grocery sector are quickly adapting to growing consumer demand for pick-up and delivery options.

“We pride ourselves in developing smart, fit-for-purpose packaging to meet our customers’ needs, which is why we’re rolling out these efficient, sustainable solutions designed for a variety of delivery methods and styles.”

In June this year, Mondi launched a new sustainable and lightweight Advantage StretchWrap paper suitable for wrapping pallets for transport.
