A new generation of high resolution inkjet printers has been introduced by Alpha Dot.
The first to hit the market is the Merlin 170, an all-in-one system that prints text and time codes at up to 300dpi in three character heights.
It can print directly onto a range of porous and semi-porous outer packs, including Kraft outer cases, trays, paper, wood and polystyrene. Up to 50×4-line messages can be stored and an internal clock allows the automatic calculation of sell-by dates and printing of production times, dates and shift codes. The Merlin ink supply can be changed while the unit is printing.
