Making its mark

UK converting group Skymark has obtained BRC/IOP accreditation for the extrusion and conversion of printed, plain and laminated plastics and foil substrates for the food packaging market.

Operations manager Alan Heappey comments: “Achieving this accreditation was all part of the on-going development plan. We were also commended for our standards and procedures, which were far higher than some BRC companies that have been registered for one to two years.”

The Skymark Group, comprising Skymark Packaging International, at Leominster, Skymark Packaging Solutions, Ilkeston, and Skymark Performance Films, in Scunthorpe, has also made a substantial investment in new equipment including Rotomec extrusion coating, PDI pouch making, two Ashe slitter/hot needle perforating and winding units, and a Nordmecanica solventless adhesive laminator – all installed at the Scunthorpe plant.
