It became quite clear during the presentation of the IOP/DTI Mapping report that there was strong support to roll out this project to incorporate machinery makers, consultants and designers,” says PPMA general secretary Andrew Manly.
“We are an integral part of the packaging industry and no mapping exercise can be an accurate reflection of the industry without it. We will be talking to the DTI and IoP about additional funding in the near future.
“At the end of the day you cannot make or use packaging materials without machines so to lump us in as just another part of engineering is just plain daft!”
