Young professional UK designers looking to boost their career in luxury packaging design can showcase their talents and receive EUR10 000 into the bargain by winning a new competition run in association with this year’s Luxe Pack show in Monaco [taking place from October 20-23].
Entrants must design a powder compact with mirror and applicator [and optional matching lipstick] and its retail packaging.
The competition is exclusively for young designers with 1-5 years’ work experience working in any business sector either in an agency or freelance.
Entries will be judged by design experts, with UK finalists invited to a showcase and awards event, where professionals and journalists covering the packaging, design and luxury goods sectors will view their work. Each UK finalist gets a certificate [the winner also receives EUR2000 to develop a prototype], plus all travelling expenses to Monaco for the international final. There they will compete against entrants from eight other countries for the top money prize, trophy and chance to demonstrate their talents to the design, luxury and packaging industries.
