Bag-in-box packaging solutions provider Liquibox, part of Sealed Air (SEE), has rolled out a recycle-ready version of its patented urn-liner product line.

Suitable for iced tea and coffee beverage dispensers, the recyclable urn-liner is made of a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tube-equipped adapter and an all-polyethylene bag.

US-based Liquibox, a portfolio company of Olympus Partners, said that the tube and bag adapter is easily separable so that the mono-material bag can be recycled.

With this advancement, Liquibox urn liners are compatible with recycling systems and have a smaller environmental impact while still providing reliable product protection.

An urn-liner is said to be a disposable liner that lines a metal drinking urn or decanter’s interior. It has a tube built within the liner that feeds through the urn spigot where cool beverages are dispensed.

Liquibox said that the liquid product is never in contact with the urn or spigot when using the urn-liner system. This gives customers a safer, better-tasting beverage and enhances operational efficiency for store owners.

Te packaging firm said that its urn liners are suitable for the rising demand for cleanliness standards by decreasing bacteria in liquids like iced tea, iced coffee, and other non-carbonated drinks by 99%.

Liquibox North America sales vice president Kevin Griffin said: “Liquibox has been helping restaurants improve food safety with its original patented urn-liners for over 20 years.

“With the new recycle-ready urn-liner, we aim to contribute to our company purpose of making the world better and to help our customers get one step closer to reaching their sustainability goals.”

Established in 1961, Liquibox is a provider of liquid packaging and dispensing solutions. It offers high-quality, flexible packaging solutions to provide reliable product protection.

Recently, Sealed Air (SEE) closed the previously announced acquisition of Liquibox for $1.15bn on a cash and debt-free basis.
