German manufacturer of coating systems for thin film technology Leybold Optics has acquired the Kontext group, which specializes in vacuum coating installations for capacitor films and packaging film.
“By combining the com- petence of Leybold with the production know-how of Kontex, our activities in the field of packaging films are being considerably increased,” the company states. “The aim is to achieve a leading position in this market. The many years of experience in vacuum evaporation and sputtering technology and the design of systems open up opportunities for new applications in the coating of flexible materials.”
