At a recent open house in Piacenza, Nordmeccanica presented its new duplex/triplex Combi horizontal laminating line in configurations for solvent based and solventless adhesives. The demonstrations produced laminates with different material and adhesive combinations in “the most complex structures”.
Claimed to offer a favourable price/performance ratio, the laminator has a modular design and can be transformed into a triplex or a double tandem duplex/triplex configuration. Interchangeable trolleys allow various coating and laminating technologies, including solvent based, solventless, water based, and wax hotmelt, coldseal in register with rotogravure, semi flexo, flexo, and PVdC systems.
Production speed is over 500m/min, with a high efficiency horizontal drying tunnel said to ensure considerable energy savings and minimum solvent retention.
