Lake Image Systems has deployed an automated solution at Belgium-based Reynders Label Printing for inspecting and authenticating the ScanTrust’s QRcode technology on secure packaging and labels.
A secure cloud-based product authentication and supply chain traceability specialist, ScanTrust has developed the secure QRcode which contains a unique fingerprint pattern that cannot be copied thus making it ideal for anti-counterfeit packaging applications.
As part of the work for Reynders, Lake Image provides a real-time, camera-based solution to read, decode and validate the QRcode during printing of the QRcode onto labels and packaging.
The camera-based solution also extracts the unique fingerprint image and interrogates the ScanTrust cloud system to authenticate the code before the start of each job, the firm noted.
Additionally, every QRCode is read and validated and through integration with an offline ScanTrust tool which also ensures the quality and integrity of each unique fingerprint.
