As part of new organizational structure, the firm intends to group all packaging activities into one Kiefel Packaging Division, which will operate with four specialized teams.

The consolidation includes the Kiefel’s operations in Freilassing, Germany, as well as the recently acquired Mould & Matic in Austria and Bosch-Sprang in the Netherlands.

Kiefel said that the new division will operate with four specialized teams with each focusing on a clear market and technology.

Operating out of Freilassing, the Tray-Team will focus on the steel-rule technology as base for tray-type products while the Cup-Team, which will operate out of Micheldorf in Austria, will focus on the tilting-/trim-in-place technology utilized to produce cup-type products.

The cup team will operate as a full-service and turnkey-partner with in-depth knowledge in machining, tooling and automation.

Additionally, the Bottle-Team, which will also be based in Micheldorf, will focus on the Injection-Stretch-Blow-Technology to offer complete platforms for the production of top quality bottle-type products.

The new division will also establish a Tech-Team which will operate out of Sprang-Capelle in the Netherlands. It will offer services including assistance in the area of product-development, R&D, material-research, product analysis and simulation.

Kiefel CEO Thomas Halletz said: “The Kiefel team has managed dynamic development in recent years within the rigid plastic packaging market. Now we are preparing our organization for the next level.

“I am convinced that our customers will appreciate our approach: a clear focus paired with our famous pioneer spirit.”

As part of the latest move, Kiefel also renamed its subsidiaries Mould & Matic Solutions GmbH and Bosch Sprang BV as Kiefel Packaging GmbH and Kiefel Packaging BV respectively.

Kiefel, a member of Brückner Group, is engaged in designing and manufacturing machines used to process plastic film materials.

It provides services to customers in the automotive industry, appliance industry, medical technology and packaging industry.
