McCambridge, an Irish owned bread maker, has sB&G’s plastic-free Earthpouch for its products
A FIRST overseas order for B&G’s Earthpouch – the first plastic-free compostable and recyclable food packaging pouch – has just been completed.
The Earthpouch was launched in the new year by B&G Products (acquired by Sirane in April) – with Troofoods the first brand to use the new material – and a range of brands have since switched their packaging to the Earthpouch.
Peter Ralten, from B&G, said: “We’ve just completed an order for McCambridge in Ireland, who wanted packaging for their Irish Gluten Free Porridge Oats. It’s a stylish-looking pack, and it’s great to see the Earthpouch go international.
“Beside the fact that the Earthpouch can be recycled with paper it is also compostable – and like other companies, McCambridge have been able to make a real point on their packaging of how their packaging is eco-friendly.”
The Earthpouch – an industry first – is made from a paper with a 100% plastic free heat-sealable coating which is then formed into a preformed stand-up pouch which provides total food security for dry and moist food products.
Simon Balderson, Sirane MD, added: “Since Packaging Innovations at the NEC we’ve had many inquiries, and we’re now working with a number of companies, in many different sectors, and the Earthpouch will be on a shelf near you soon… one of the great things about the product is it is also cost-effective, often environmentally-friendly packaging comes at a cost, with Earthpouch that’s not the case.”
The Earthpouch is just one of a range of compostable/recyclable products and packaging solutions Sirane has developed over the years – and they are all included in our Earth packaging range, which is constantly evolving.
