Mullackal manufactures premium HDPE and barrier plastic containers, caps and measuring cups for crop protection and the speciality chemical industry in India

France-based Ipackchem Group has agreed to acquire Indian crop protection packaging provider Mullackal Polymers for an undisclosed sum.

Mullackal, which has three facilities in Western India, manufactures premium HDPE and barrier plastic containers, caps and measuring cups for crop protection and speciality chemical industry in India.

Serving the largest multinational crop protection players in India, the company is said to pioneer plastic barrier manufacturing technology in the country.

Mullackal owner and managing director Ramesh Pillai said: “Ipackchem is the perfect partner for Mullackal and we are excited to continue providing best-in-class packaging to India’s leading crop protection players with the added benefit of Ipackchem’s resources and industry relationships.”

Mullackal produces co-extruded plastic containers, caps and measuring cups for agrochemicals and solvent-based products.

The company’s product portfolio consists of monolayer bottles, self-dispensing bottles, closures, syringes, inner seals and collars, as well as pourers.

The partnership with Mullackal will enable Ipackchem to create a substantial presence in India’s high-growth market, in addition to supporting future expansion in the country.

Earlier this year, SK Capital acquired Ipackchem, which provides specialised barrier packaging solutions for the crop protection and speciality chemicals end markets

Established in 1987, Ipackchem produces plastic packaging products such as containers, bottles, and jerrycans. It operates facilities across Europe, the UK, Russia, China, Brazil and South Africa.
