Working with 180 stakeholder organisations representing the flexible packaging value chain to promote recycling and build a circular economy

Intertek, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce it has become a member of CEFLEX, to help build the circular economy for flexible packaging, and promote the development of recycling technologies in Europe.
CEFLEX is a collaboration of over 180 European companies, associations, and organisations bringing together the entire value chain of flexible packaging to tackle the complex technical and business barriers to a circular economy. CEFLEX has an established roadmap and targets to achieve a circular economy for flexible packaging and increase recycling efforts across the EU. The consortium’s goals include establishing guidelines on packaging design, driving collection and sorting of flexible packaging materials, and the identification of sustainable end markets for their downstream use.
For the last two decades, Intertek’s scientists have supported plastics and polymers companies to optimise the value of recycled materials whilst ensuring their quality and safety. Building on this commitment to create a circular economy for plastics and polymers, Intertek launched CircularAssure earlier this year. This innovative programme of assurance, testing, and certification services can be applied across the recycled plastic value chain to help each stakeholder ensure flexible packaging flows back into the economy, reducing raw material dependence and ensuring quality and safety of products.
